At least four policemen were wounded in an armed attack and improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in northeast the city of Baqubah, Diyala province.
The attack occurred near a security checkpoint in the village of Zaganieh, Al-Abara district, northeast of Baqubah, leaving a policeman wounded, a security source said.
The source underlined that three other policemen were wounded in an IED explosion, while they were attempting to aid their wounded policeman.
All four wounded were rushed to the hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment required, the source added.
Meanwhile, a farmer was wounded in IED explosion that took place in a farm northeast Baqubah, a security source said.
Iraqi cities are bearing the brunt of ISIS terror. Explosions, suicide bombings and assassinations are a commonplace. Many civilians and police and army personnel die in the aftermath of this violence.
