Spokesman for Salahuddin Police Mohamed Al-Jabouri said three policemen were killed in improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in the city of Tikrit.
In press statements, Jabouri explained that unidentified assailants planted the IED to target an armed vehicle in Tikrit.
He underlined that more than 75 IEDs have been dismantled during the past two days, adding that there are dozens more still pose a threat to the security forces who conduct operations to clear the city of ISIS militants.
Iraqi cities are bearing the brunt of ISIS terror. Explosions, suicide bombings and assassinations are a commonplace. Many civilians and police and army personnel die in the aftermath of this violence.
