About 2500 displaced Iraqis have returned to their homes in different districts of Nineveh governorate, officials said Tuesday.
In a statement, the Ministry of Immigration and Displacement said that the returnees were provided with free means of transportation to get back home.
But activists told the Baghdad Post that the province's infrastructure restoration rate is very slow and can't keep up with the residents' demands and needs.
In late December 2017, Iraqi PM Haider Abadi declared full liberation of Iraq from ISIS terrorists.
Nineveh governorate was considered to be ISIS' main stronghold in Iraq.
