Blast in northern Samarra cuts power line from Kirkuk, Salahuddin
An explosion targeting the power installation disrupted the flow of electricity to northern Samarra, the ministry of electricity announced on Saturday.

In a statement, the ministry said that this act is the fourth of its kind in one month only.

The ministry said that two improvised explosive devices were planted under the power installations number 113-114 in al-Rashad area in northern Samarra.

Kirkuk and Salahuddin governorates will suffer a shortage because of the explosion, the statement added.

Iraqi electricity grid has been suffering as terror groups instantly target the main electrical lines which have been worn down by the war and under-investment.

These attacks target civilians comfort to agitate Iraqis against the ministry and in turn the government, sources said.

Iraqis have staged protests in the capital and southern cities in recent weeks, demanding electricity, jobs, and government reforms.
