Hundreds of Iraqi protesters staged a demonstration in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square on Friday evening amid tightened security measures, sources and eyewitnesses said.
The protesters are raising banners saying ‘Out!’. They demanded the resignation of the current government.
Iraqi police and army have blocked all roads leading to the Square and barred media access.
Dozens of Iraqis have been killed and injured after nearly three weeks of protests against corruption, high unemployment, and poor services.
