Ex-MP: Government is unable to solve water shortage crisis in Tigris

Former MP Ahmed Al-Badry said the government is unable to solve the water shortage crisis in Tigris River, despite holding talks with Turkey to provide Iraq with adequate water share.

In press statements, Badry urged the government to resort to the United Nations to force Turkey to provide Iraq with sufficient water share.

He underlined that the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources said in more than one occasion that there will not be a water crisis in the current year, however, Badry explained that next year the country could face a crisis as a result of the dehydration of the Tigris River.
