Former MP Zana Said expected the completion of all procedures related to manual recounting of Iraq's parliamentary elections' votes by mid next month.
Said pointed out that the 10 days period given to complete the manual counting of elections' ballot boxes is not enough, adding that this process needs several weeks in order to show the accurate results.
Over the past week, hundreds of ballot boxes have been recounted in the provinces of Kirkuk, Sulaimani, and Erbil. The High Electoral Commission has yet to announce the results.
Despite the final results being unknown, Iraqi parties continue to negotiate over the formation of the new government in talks that are expected to take months.
