Turkmen Front calls on Abadi to respond to demands of Basra protesters

Iraqi Turkmen Front
Iraqi Turkmen Front has asserted that delaying protests came due to elections as it respects the security establishment.
In a statement, the Front said it backs the peaceful protests and the legitimate demands of the protesters.
"Electricity and jobs should be provided to Basra residents. And protesters should protect the key facilities of the state since they are possessed by the Iraqi people and a symbol for the awe of the state," the statement added.
It also called on the Iraqi government to heed the demands of the protests in Basra and Kirkuk. The two provinces are witnessing a severe power shortage.
Basra and Kirkuk are the economic artery of Iraq, the Front went on to say.
