The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Tuesday denied reports that his party had inked a political agreement with Fatih alliance and the State of Law coalition.
Fadhil Mirani, Secretary of KDP's Political Bureau, described
the documents circulated on social media in this regard as fake and a malicious way to wish to reign over ashes.
He further called on the Iraqi competent authorities to investigate the matter, stressing the importance of bringing those responsible for publishing false news to trial.
Recently, KDP President Masoud Barzani held a meeting with a joint delegation from the Al-Fatih alliance, led by Iran-allied Hadi al-Amiri and the State of Law Coalition, headed by former PM Nouri Al-Maliki.
During the meeting, they agreed on the importance of making the historical relations, the Constitution's enforcement and adherence to the principles of partnership and harmony and balance as a basis for the political process.
