The two Filipino women who were abducted Saturday on a road linking the Iraqi capital Baghdad to the Kurdistan's Erbil, have been set free, Iraqi security sources told the Baghdad Post Sunday.The abducted women were on a journey to Erbil with three other Filipino women when unidentified men in a yellow car pulled over and took them, the sources said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction. The reason behind the incident remained unknown.
Over the past few weeks, there has been a surge in abduction incidents across Iraq.
Last month, ISIS terror group abducted and killed at least eight security personnel .
