Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Nechirvan Barzani held a phone conversation
with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday to discuss bilateral
relations.
Barzani congratulated Erdogan over
his re-election in Turkey's presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Prime Minister discussed bilateral relations, stressing the importance of enhancing mutual cooperation opportunities between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region in all fields.
They also touched the
latest developments in the region.
This is the second phone conversation between the two leaders since the
Kurdistan independence referendum, which Ankara fiercely opposed.
They last spoke in April when
Erdogan called Barzani to express his sympathies following the death of the KRG
PM's twin brother Dilovan Idris Barzani.
