Kirkuk provincial police Colonel Afrasiau Kamal said that the security situation in the province
is very stable, denying any widespread security deployment.
Kamal said that the security positions set up inside Kirkuk City are doing their part as usual, noting that there is no widespread security deployment.
He added that the terrorist operation took place in Kirkuk on Sunday was not due to the lack of security measures.
The police spokesman confirmed that the province's vast area and its
boundaries with a number of cities were behind the incident.
Kamal pointed out that terrorist attacks don't take place only in Iraq but also in most world countries, some of which was classified as safest parts in the world.
Noteworthy, at least 21 persons were killed and injured Sunday in a car bomb attack near a site housing ballot boxes from May 12 parliamentary elections in Kirkuk
