Iraqi lawmaker with National Wisdom Movement (NWM), Habib al-Tarfi
announced that the NWM and Saairun Alliance are determined to form a national
bloc that would cross sectarian and ethnic divisions.
Tarfi ruled out the possibility of forming a national coalition
as was the case in the previous term.
He added that everyone is now seeking to form a cross-sectarian and
nationalism alliance, so it is impossible to reform a national alliance in the
current days.
The Iraqi lawmaker pointed out that ruling and opposing parties, in
any democratic ruling systems, are authorized to evaluate the government's
performance and correct its course of action.
He noted that all current Iraqi political blocs has commenced a
new era of holding intensive dialogues aimed at strengthening the formation of a
national majority called by NWM leader's Ammar al-Hakim.
On May 12, Iraqi people made their way to the poll stations to
cast their ballots in the country's first parliamentary elections since the
defeat of ISIS terrorist group in December 2017.
Saairun Alliance, which is led by Sadrist Movement leader Moqtada
al-Sadr, won the most number of seats in the upcoming parliament.
