MP for the state of law coalition, Mansur al-Baiji, called on judges assigned to supervise the parliamentary elections to rapidly accomplish the manual recounting of votes as soon as possible.
In a statement, al-Baiji urged all political blocs to respect the final results of election, which are set to be announced within the coming period, in order to avoid dragging Iraq into a new crisis.
He also pointed out to Iraq's current critical situation.
The parliamentary election was marked by record low turnout. It was the first since Iraq declared victory over the ISIS group and the fourth since the 2003 US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.
