About 1,000 Iran-allied Houthi militiamen were killed since the start of the battle to liberate the city of Hodeidah, Yemeni sources said.
The sources explained that the areas in the vicinity of Hodeidah international airport witnessed violent clashes between the Giants Brigades and Houthi militias.
The Saudi-led Arab coalition bombed sites belonging to Houthi militias in Hodeidah's Ad Durayhimi district, the sources underlined.
Houthis are trained and funded by Iran to overthrow the internationally-recognized government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.
In 2015, an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia was formed to oust the Shia militants from Yemen.
