Turkish armed forces announced on Tuesday that 26 militants were neutralized in air strikes in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq this week.
The strikes were carried out on Sunday and Monday in the provinces of Diyarbakir and Chernakin, and in the northern Afasin Basian region, where PKK bases are located, the military said in a statement on its Twitter account.

The Turkish army has stepped up airstrikes in northern Iraq targeting PKK bases in Qandil, near the Iraqi-Iranian border, where Ankara suspects the concentration of senior leaders of the outlawed party.
Turkish officials often use the term “neutralize” in statements about attacks on militants, without giving precise details. It is generally understood to mean that they were killed, captured or wounded.
