Parliament will hold extraordinary session to discuss HEC’s violations: MP

Civil Democratic Movement MP, Shrouk al-Abaiji said on Friday that the parliament will hold an extraordinary session in order to discuss the High Electoral Commission (HEC) violations during the Iraqi parliamentary elections.

Abaiji added that the members of the parliament will discuss during the session, which will be held on Saturday or Sunday, the evidence and documents that confirm to existence of electoral fraud.


On May 12, Iraqi people made their way to the poll stations to cast their ballots in the country's first parliamentary elections since the defeat of ISIS terrorist group in December 2017.

Saairun Alliance, which is led by the Sadrist Movement leader Moqtada al-Sadr, won the most number of seats in the upcoming parliament.
