The National Coalition has called for a redo of Iraqi parliamentary elections that were held Saturday over fraud and vote rigging allegations.
Leader of the coalition, Ayad Allawi, incumbent VP, also cited British observers that the voter turnout did not exceed 19 percent.
Allawi's statements go against the Independent High Elections Commission (IHEC) that claimed the turnout was 44.2 percent.
Also on Sunday, six Kurdish parties echoed Allawi’s calls.
In a press conference, spokesman for the Kurdish parties said, “We have detailed proof of how those in power committed fraud in the election".
