Kirkuk parties give IHEC 24-hour deadline to start counting votes

Arab and Turkmen political parties gave High Electoral Commission (IHEC) a 24-hour deadline to start manual counting of votes to announce the results of the parliamentary elections, Head of Iraqi Turkmen Front said on Sunday.


Arshad al-Salihi underlined that the elections witnessed number of complaints by political blocs over the integrity and transparency of the elections, as some say the elections is rigged.


Legislative elections in Iraq started on May 12. The integrity of this elections is questionable. Clerics and politicians say fraud will happen due to the control of militias over the polling centers.
