Security forces to impose partial curfew on elections day: Sources

Iraqi elections to be held May 12

Iraqi security forces will impose a partial curfew on vehicles during parliamentary elections day, well-informed sources at Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) told The Baghdad Post.

The sources explained that the recent coordination meeting between the commissioners and a number of security leaders resulted in several recommendations, most importantly imposing a partial curfew in order to secure polling stations and blocking bridges between Al Karkh and Al Rusafa neighborhoods in Baghdad.

The commissioners called for keeping the main roads open to ease the transportation of citizens and their arrival to polling stations, the sources added.
