Two policemen were killed and three others were injured in clashes with ISIS terrorists in Kirkuk province, security sources announced on Thursday.
A spokesman for federal police Hamed al-Obeidi said that ISIS terrorists attacked a security checkpoint in Rubidah village in southern Daquq at dawn Thursday.
Earlier in the day, ISIS terror group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Terrorists on social media networks claimed that ISIS recaptured areas from federal police in Daquq.
In a statement, the Center for Security Information of the Ministry of Defense, on Thursday denied claims of ISIS noting that federal police forces successfully fended off the attack.
