Kurdish key political parties fight their way to parliament

The key political parties in Kurdistan region, the Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP), the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Gorran Movement (Change Movement) affirmed Wednesday their readiness to do their best to obtain as much as seats at the Iraqi parliament in the May-12 election.

"We will do our best to obtain the highest percentage of votes to enable our candidates to win the parliament's seats," head of the electoral committee of KDP stated on Wednesday, refusing to the reveal the budget allocated for the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan announced that it resorted to a British corporate to manage the campaign, asserting that their candidates are on their own in financing their campaigns, since the party provides them with a token amount and they have to pay the rest of costs.

The Gorran Movement predicted a fierce competition in the election race between them and the KDP.
