The Federal Government launched a military operation to oust ISIS sleeper cells in Diyala governorate, Diyala Operations Commander General Mazhar al-Azawi said on Sunday.
In a press statement, Azawi said that the operation is focusing its efforts at Thalab valley in northeastern Diyala.
He added that joint forces supported by the air forces launched the operations from Hamrin Mountains.
Azawi further stated that the operation was carried out after receiving information from the intelligence directorate.
