Up to 500 displaced persons have returned to their homes
in Anbar governorate, the ministry of immigration announced Saturday.
"The officials of Baghdad and Fallujah have cooperated with the ministry of immigration to transport 152 displaced citizens from Baghdad's camps and about 355 others from Fallujah," the ministry said in official statement.
The statement pointed out that the ministry has taken care of the displaced; it presented to them food and medical treatment.
As a result of the war against ISIS terrorists in Iraq, the number of displaced people risen dramatically. This increases the burden on the central government trying to handle the problem of displaced Iraqis who escaped the atrocities of ISIS since the launch of recapture operations.
What exacerbates displaced persons' dilemma is that Iraq’s financial resources have been drained as a result of the military operations conducted to retake ISIS-held districts.
