The Manama Centre for Human Rights (MCHR) has urged
the United Nations agencies and the international community to investigate the
human rights situation in Qatar, in official statement released Friday.
The MCHR claimed that the Qatari regime has committed grave human rights violations against citizens and residents, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The MCHR appealed to the international community to directly investigate the violations against thousands of al-Ghefran and expatriate workers rights, in addition to cases of arbitrary revocation of the citizenship of tribe leaders and their families, including women and children, away from the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) in Qatar, given its affiliation to the Qatari regime.
Bahrain joined Saudi Arabia, Egypt and UAE in severing ties with Qatar past summer, over accusation of funding terrorist organizations that targets the security and stability of Arab countries.
