Bahraini authorities have arrested a new Iran-allied terror network that sought to target officials and oil facilities, press reports said Saturday.
In a statement, the interior ministry said it arrested 116 terrorists who were trained and funded by Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
The terror militants were arrested in possession of explosives and weapons including automatic assault rifles, pistols, magnetic bombs, and grenades.
The statement revealed that 48 of those detained had received training in IRGC camps in Iraq and Lebanon.
Iran has deployed thousands of Shiite terrorists in the neighboring Arab countries to destabilize them.
