Exclusive: Sources expose IMIS lies on death of Sheikh Jabouri

Ammar al-Hakim

Media outlets affiliated with Iran Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) have circulated false reports that Sheikh Jabouri, who wrote verses mocking head of National Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, sources told The Baghdad Post on Friday.

The pro-IMIS media posted a photo of one of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden's companions, who was killed in a US raid on the terror group's outposts in Pakistan. They claimed it is for Sheikh Jabouri.

Experts say the pro-IMIS media, including War Media Cell, is following in the footsteps of the pro-Assad media outlets, which spread false news that attract sympathy of opponents for their credibility to be harmed when true story comes out.

This method is deemed failed, they added.

This comes as an Iraqi tribal chief has slammed the political powers' performance in his country, prompting Wisdom Movement leader Ammar al-Hakim to leave a gathering in southern Iraq.

The video that was obtained by The Baghdad Post and went viral on social media shows the tribal chief accusing in a satirical poem politicians as corrupt and oppressive.
