A mass grave that includes about 40 bodies of Christians was found in Mosul city in Nineveh governorate, Church sources said on Friday.
In statements, a source of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch said that security forces found the bodies of a number of Christians who were kidnapped earlier. They were buried in a mass grave near Badush in west of Mosul city.
The bodies of the Christians include a number of bodies of women and children, the source further said.
ISIS terrorist group controlled Mosul for almost three years in which the terrorists killed, raped, robbed and kidnapped thousands of innocent civilians while hundreds of thousands of other civilians fled the area.
By the end of 2017, Prime Minister Haider al Abadi announced victory over ISIS terrorist group after liberating a number of areas in Iraq from the grip of the terrorist group.
