An Iraqi court sentenced Sunday a Turkish woman to death and another 11 foreign widows to life in jail over ISIS-linked ties.
Those convicted, including 11 Turkish women and an Azeri one, formerly submitted pleas that they had been forced by their husbands to join ISIS in Iraq.
They were all detained in Mosul or Tal Afar where their husbands were killed.
ISIS captured large swathes of Iraq and Syria in mid-2014.
In 2015, the US-led coalition launched a military campaign in partnership with Iraqi forces to oust the terror group.
