General amnesty law gives free rein to corrupt figures- source
Corruption in Iraq has reached an unprecedented level as most of the corrupt figures have been released under the general amnesty law, an informed source told The Baghdad Post on Saturday.

Some of the corrupt transactions are estimated at 400-500 m dollars, the source, who asked not to be named, added.

Some of the high-level politicians are standing behind the inclusion of most corrupt figures under the general amnesty law, the source pointed out.


The source also confirmed that the judges are being pressured by political leadership to impede proceeds of exposing corrupt figures and anti-corruption strategies.
