Calls for putting end to absence of MPs from voting sessions

Several MPs boycott voting sessions under false pretenses
Several Iraqi MPs refrain from attending the parliamentary sessions which led to disrupting the political process in Iraq, Mansour Al Baegi, a member of State of Law Coalition, said on Tuesday.

He added that there is a package of laws drafts, most importantly the budget draft, that needs voting but the MPs, political blocs, and parties boycott the sessions under false pretenses.

Baegi called on Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salem al-Jabouri to put an end to these breaches as the council's excesses must be averted and its shortcomings redressed.

All the MPs must attend the upcoming sessions for voting as the period of this parliament comes to a close.
