UNDP to fund power supply project in Hawija
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will finance power supply project, worth more than IQD 2 billion in Hawija district, Kirkuk provincial council said in a statement on Wednesday.

It added that the amounts of money to extend the feeder 132 KV around the district have been secured.

This project is important and strategic as it will restore power supply to the recaptured areas from ISIS in southwestern Kirkuk.

The statement pointed out that the project had been discontinued due to the need for budgetary packet allocated by the Ministry of Electricity, the statement read.

Efforts have been made by Kirkuk governor Najmaldin Karim who held several meetings with the members of UNDP to fund this project.
