IMIS deploy their forces in Tuz Khurmat, Daquq cities amid offensive
The Iranian militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) have deployed their recruits in Salahuddin's Tuz Khurmatu city and Kirkuk's Daquq town, Abo Reda al-Nagaz, an IMIS leader, said on Saturday.

He claimed that the military reinforcements were sent after unknown gunmen had shelled Tuz Khurmatu city and Baghdad-Kirkuk road with mortars.

This comes as the crisis in Kirkuk has escalated. Peshmerga forces have been fending off attacks launched by the Iraqi forces, backed by IMIS.

Tensions between the two sides over the future of Kurdistan have been high since the Kurds voted for independence in a September referendum.

The oil-rich Kirkuk Governorate has emerged as a flashpoint in the crisis as it is claimed by both sides.
IMIS is working to hasten Iran plots to carry out demographic changes in the Sunni areas, exploiting the deteriorating security situation in the Iraqi cities where battles against ISIS are going on.
