GPC forces capture hundreds of Houthis in Yemen’s Sanaa

General People’s Congress (GPC) forces, affiliated with former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, have captured hundreds of Iran-backed Houthis in many districts in Sanaa.

On Monday, GPC’s website published a video that features dozens of Houthi terrorists turning themselves in to Saleh forces in southern Sanaa.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported that fierce clashes erupted in Hadda district in Sanaa. Iran-backed Houthis heavily shelled al-Siyasi neighborhood in the Yemeni capital.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni national army issued an order to transport seven brigades from Marib to gain control of Khawlan front then head towards Sanna.

The orders coincided with dispatched military reinforcements to Nahem and the national army’s mobilization from Marib to Khawlan front enroute to Sanaa.

The past three days have witnessed deadly clashes between supporters of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and his former Houthi militia allies.

This comes as Houthi terrorists have been bruised by the defection of their powerful ally, Saleh.

On Sunday, the Saudi-led coalition launched air strikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, lending support to Saleh after he signaled he was abandoning his support of the Iran-aligned Houthis - a shift that could pave the way to end three years of war.

In a speech on Saturday, Saleh appeared to indicate the end of his loyalists’ alliance with Houthi terrorists. He said he was ready to turn a “new page” in ties with the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis.
