Yemeni GPC forces gain control of key embassies in Sanaa

Yemen denies receiving any details for UN initiative to end crisis
General People's Congress (GPC) forces on Saturday have gained control of the embassies of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Sudan in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Tens of families of Houthi leaders left the Yemeni capital, heading for Saada province, and Houthi leaders escaped from Ibb city to the town of Yarim.

After Houthi militias left the city, the GPC forces were handed over the Ibb City Hall following a tribal mediation.

Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed al-Jaber posted on his Twitter that Sanaa is rising up against Iranian Houthi militias, stressing that Sanaa is Arab.

Former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh said that he was ready to turn a new page with neighboring countries to pave the way for holding negotiations.

He also called on Yemeni people in various provinces to move against Houthi militias, accusing Houthis of committing hostile acts against Yemeni people.
