The Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS), has prevented western Mosul’s internally displaced persons (IDPs) from returning to their houses, Ahmed Madlol al-Jarba, a Nineveh MP, revealed Saturday.
In a press statement, al-Jarba said the return of IDPs from al-Ba'aj and al-Qayrawan neighborhoods as well as villages of Tal Abta to their houses is a humanitarian issue. He hoped this issue does not become a part of the electoral pacts.
Al-Jarba called on Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and national security adviser Faleh al-Fayad and IMIS leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis to rapidly put an end to actions of any faction that prevents western Nineveh’s IDPs to return to their districts.
On August 17, the Iraqi Parliament has voted in favor of a resolution on the return western Nineveh’s IDPs after carrying out security checks, he added.
