The head of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Nechirvan Barzani, said on Monday that Erbil had always wanted dialogue but Baghdad resorted clashes.
These remarks came after Nechirvan met with French and German ambassadors to Iraq at his office on Monday, a statement read out.
Nechirvan added that Kurdistan region is seeking stability in the region and is standing against chaos, urging the international community to interfere and pressure Baghdad to accept dialogue.
Ambassadors of Germany and France expressed their support for the Kurdistan region to overcome the current crisis with Baghdad.
Earlier, Iraqi security forces backed by Iranian militias (IMIS) launched a military offensive to wrest back the oil-rich Kirkuk province.
The tension between Baghdad and Erbil has erupted after Kurds in the region voted overwhelmingly to break away from Iraq.
