Saudi Crown Prince Bin Salman to visit Baghdad soon

Mohammed bin Salman

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will visit Baghdad soon after the recent rapprochement between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, according to press sources.

The sources said that Abdul Hussein al-Ezerjawi, a leader in the National Iraqi Allainace (NIA) as saying asserted that the Saudi crown prince’s visit comes as a response to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s recent successful visit to Riyadh.

The visit also aims at maintaining the two countries’ common interests, he noted.

The upcoming visit of bin Salman will open new horizons for cooperation between Riyadh and Baghdad. Communicating with young leaders such as the Saudi crown prince serves Iraq’s interests, he added.

According to observers, the rapprochement between Iraq and Saudi Arabia comes as Arab countries attempt to counter Iran’s influence in the region.

Earlier, it was reported that bin Salman will visit Iraq soon.

However, Saudi Arabia has not issued any statements to confirm theses reports.
