Dhi Qar authorities announced on Saturday that a Slovakian archaeologist team has arrived at the governorate to start an excavation expedition at Tal Gokha site.
Dhi Qar Inspectorate Chief Amgad al-Musawi said that the team arrived on its second from five seasons, according to an agreement with the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage.
He added that the team includes 12 archaeologists from all expertise, who will work on completing topographic scans that was unfinished from the previous season and will open new excavation sites, expressing his hope of achieving better results this season.
It's worth mentioning that there are three foreign archaeological teams working on the governorate form France, Italy and Solvakia.
It's also expected that an another Italian and American teams will arrive in Iraq soon to work on other archaeological sites.
