Iraqi PM Haider Abadi has arrived in Riyadh in a visit considered a first step to diffuse tension in Kirkuk, the Baghdad Post reported Saturday.
Abadi's visit comes upon a formal invitation from Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Abadi will be heading a 10-minister delegation in his visit to Riyadh.
The visit comes as the two sides are scheduled to conclude an agreement relating to the Saudi-Iraqi Coordinating Council on Sunday.
"An agreement on the Coordination Council will be signed and then there will be a press conference," the Iraqi ambassador in Riyadh Rushdi al-Aani said.
