Kirkuk's people to revolt against IMIS oppression - Barzani's adviser

Kirkuk governorate people will not tolerate the Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS)' barbarism and will soon revolt against them, Kurdistan President Masoud Barzani's Media Adviser Kafah Mahmoud Karim said on Thursday.

Karim asserted that Khanaqin city will be the spark against Baghdad's oppression against Kurds as it will always be free.

Earlier, IMIS shouted sectarian chants and burned Kurdistan flag in Sunni and Kurdish areas in Kirkuk to provoke its civilians and spark a civil war in the governorate.

This comes as Kurdistan plans to storm Kirkuk to recapture it from IMIS terrorists who committed numerous atrocities against civilians in the governorate since their deployment in it.

IMIS' deployment in Kirkuk came after Peshmerga forces were withdrawn from Kirkuk governorate after the Iraqi forces were deployed in the governorate, following negotiations with the Baghdad government and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
