Seoul considers unilateral sanctions against North Korea

South Korea is considering levying its own sanctions on North Korea as the isolated state ramps up the tension with its missile and nuclear provocations, Reuters quoted the South’s vice foreign minister as saying on Wednesday, but no decision had been made yet.

Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam made the remarks at a news conference in Seoul with Deputy US Secretary of State John J. Sullivan and Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Shinsuke Sugiyama.

Earlier on Oct. 9, South Korea has threatened to deploy graphite bombs that can paralyze North Korea’s power grid in the event of a nuclear war.
