Kurdish lawmaker affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Farhan Jawhar said on Monday the Kurdish parties will set a date for elections in the region.
He added his party completed preparations for holding parliamentary and presidential elections in the region.
The lawmaker noted that the Kurdish political trends will have the final say when it comes to the date of the election.
He added the Kurdish parties were planned to meet last Thursday, but the meeting was called off after the death of former Iraqi president Galal Talabani.
After funeral ceremonials end, the Kurdish parties will meet to discuss the current situation in the region.
At this meeting, according to the lawmaker, the Kurdish parties will agree a date for holding both parliamentary and presidential election.
