Iraq’s Parliament suspended on Tuesday the membership of Kurdish MPs.
This comes after the parliament convened a session on Tuesday, presided by its speaker Salim al-Jabouri.
The session was attended by 175 MPs, but Kurdish MPs were absent.
Earleir on Tuesday, it was reported that Iraqi lawmakers prevented Kurdish MPs from entering the parliament.
MP Methaq al-Hamidi called on the Iraqi Parliament to reject the return of Kurdistan Alliance MPs to attend its sessions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, she said that Kurdistan Alliance MPs broke their oath when they took part in the unilateral Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum to declare an illegitimate state.
