Iraqi lawmakers prevented on Tuesday Kurdish MPs from entering the parliament.
Earlier on Tuesday, MP Methaq al-Hamidi called on the Iraqi Parliament to reject the return of Kurdistan Alliance MPs to attend its sessions.
In a statement, she said that Kurdistan Alliance MPs broke their oath when they took part in the unilateral Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum to declare an illegitimate state.
On Friday, it was reported that Kurdish MPs decided to continue boycotting the Iraqi Parliament sessions.
This comes one week after the region conducted a referendum on independence, which Baghdad considers unconstitutional.
