Nine British pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia on their bikes after a six-week long journey from London, which took them over 3,000 km through France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Egypt, SPA said Sunday.
The trip, according to the British riders, was
aimed at conveying a picture of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance
among the countries they passed through.
They are expected to complete their tour within the Kingdom from Jeddah to Madinah, before embarking on the performance of the pilgrimage rituals.
It is noteworthy that the cooperation to receive the pilgrims was present to see them, on arrival, from several official bodies such as the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the General Authority for Sport and the emirate of Madinah.
