Kurdish delegation to visit Baghdad to discuss referendum

Massoud Barzani
A Kurdish delegation is due to visit Baghdad to discuss the Kurdistan region independence referendum scheduled for September 25th.

The Supreme Committee of the referendum in Kurdistan has commissioned Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani to form the delegation.

However, the committee has not specified a date for the visit.

Barzani stressed that the Kurdistan parliament would be activated within two weeks to discuss the region's crises.

The parliament of the province has been hindered over political disputes between Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the Change Movement.

Iraqi central government has repeatedly voiced rejection of the scheduled referendum.

Regional countries including Iran and Turkey also oppose the move.
