Former Nineveh Governor Atheel al-Nujaifi accused several officers, who are affiliates with the former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki, of releasing several inmates from prisons for electoral interests, Nujaifi said on Thursday.
He added that they helped in spreading sectarianism among Iraqi citizens.
They were also using several brutal means to frighten the citizens and abuse their rivals.
Nujaifi confirmed that they misinformed the government and the security forces on Iraqi civilians, who refused to elect them.
"The essential problem is that the Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi trusts them and plans according to their wrong information which could harm his authority," he said
