Westa Rasool, a commander in charge of the fourth axis of Peshmerga forces, said on Monday his forces will not let any non-Kurdish troops into Kirkuk.

He added in a press statement:"We have very powerful bases on the borders of Kirkuk, and there is no need for any other troops to be deployed there."

He also indicated that there is an IMIS Shiite brigade stationed on the province's borders, asserting it got the green light from the Peshmerga.

This brigade consists of Shiite Turkmen and is stationed in the areas of Taz and al-Bashir.

No forces will not be allowed to be deployed near the borders of the province unless there is an agreement with Peshmerga ministry or the general command of the forces.
