The next phase requires unity and dialogue to meet Iraq's and the region's challenges, Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri said during a meeting with Vice President Osama al-Nujaifi on Wednesday.
Jabouri's media office revealed in a statement on Thursday that the two Iraqi politicians discussed the security and political situations in the country.
They also addressed the means to hasten displaced families' return to their districts in the recently liberated Mosul, the statement read.
According to the statement, the two leaders stresses the importance of concerted action with political parties that will contribute to maintaining Iraq's unity, security and stability.
On Friday, al-Jabouri hailed the role the Sahwa or Awakening Councils played in supporting the security apparatus in their fight against ISIS as well as protecting citizens and their properties.
Earlier, the Iraqi Parliament Speaker has stressed the importance of using post-ISIS era to create an appropriate environment that resolves all political disputes and meets the demands of the Iraqi people.
